We have 4 houses at Meadowside which are named after famous British aircraft. Our school was built on RAF Quedgeley and was a very important place during World War II. Our captains help to lead events across the whole school. Each house has a Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 captain, as well as a Vice-Captain in Year 5.

Meteors: Yellow
At Meadowside Primary School, our houses, Spitfires, Comets, Meteors and Hurricanes, play a vital role in giving children a strong sense of belonging. From the moment they join the school, every child becomes part of a house family, creating connections with pupils across different year groups and helping them feel valued, supported and included. House events, challenges and celebrations encourage teamwork, friendship and healthy competition, while also fostering pride in being part of something bigger than themselves. By working together towards shared goals and celebrating each other’s successes, children develop confidence, resilience and a deeper connection to the school community, making Meadowside a place where everyone feels they belong.
