Welcome to Meadowside
Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Meadowside is a very special primary school with a unique ‘family’ atmosphere where our school values are:
Aspirational, Environmental, Independence, Opportunistic, Understanding.
After our Ofsted visit in June 2025, we have been on a rapid school improvement journey. I began my Headship in September 2025 and I have high aspirations for all the children and staff at Meadowside. We have made rapid progress in academic achievement (see school performance) but there is still work to do as we build a curriculum that challenges the children across all subjects. Governors are a key part of leadership at Meadowside and they ensure a high level of challenge and accountability for all. Children and staff want the best for all children that attend Meadowside and this is clear from the moment you step into the building. When you visit you will see our aspirations in action in a calm and positive environment.
My first year as Headteacher was a privilege and I continue to look forward to the challenges that lay ahead and this is an exciting time to be part of our school. The Meadowside Family is unique, and it is an honour to lead us into the next exciting chapter as we continue to make a difference for our future.
Mr Port,
Headteacher

We’ve just had a brilliant assembly about ‘aspirations’ from Christina Sadler, who is a parent in our school family. She has made a career out of her passion for art (you may recognise the Lion!). It was amazing to hear about her career and how she always tried to say ‘Yes’ to everything, even if she wasn’t sure she could do it. Christina’s work has appeared in John Lewis, Gloucester Hospital and even in her own gallery. We all feel inspired. Thank you Christina! christinasadler.com/ If you want to share your career with the children at Meadowside, please get in

We are feeling incredibly grateful as www.thomasandthomasproperty.co.uk/ have sponsored a brand new football kit for Meadowside! It had its first outing yesterday afternoon and was by far the best kit on show! A huge thanks to these members of our school family, who have showed us another way to ‘be kind’. 💚💙 We have had special permission from the families below to share this picture.
