Welcome to Meadowside

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Meadowside is a very special primary school with a unique ‘family’ atmosphere where our school values are:

Aspirational, Environmental, Independence, Opportunistic, Understanding.

The school begins a new chapter in September 2025 as I have been appointed the new Headteacher!

Meadowside is a special, environmentally friendly school where everyone is valued, and children are at the heart of everything we do.

We continue to build a caring, safe environment where children achieve strong social and academic outcomes. We foster a love of learning and are aspirational for all. This is a school where children learn to become independent, curious learners and seize opportunities presented to them. Children show an understanding of difference and celebrate diversity. Governors and staff work together to challenge and celebrate as we create a school that we are proud of.

I am looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead and this is an exciting time to be part of our school. The Meadowside Family is unique, and I am privileged to lead us into the next exciting chapter as we continue to make a difference for our future.

Mr Port,

Headteacher

In possibly the most exciting news of the year so far, Mrs Davies’ School Council have propelled the school into two events that have never happened before in the history of Meadowside! Epic Event Number 1: The School Council organised a democratic vote to name one of Gloucestershire’s Highway Gritters… they won! The name is ‘Gritfire’, which links to one of our houses (Spitfires). The Gritter will hopefully visit us in the coming weeks. Epic Event Number 2: We made it into the Radio Gloucestershire Advent Calendar! Listen in on BBC sounds at 1hr56 mins to hear the School Council

Our catchment includes Green Farm, Tuffley, Kingsway, Huntsgrove, Hardwicke and Hempsted.
