Making a difference for our future

Attendance

There have been several changes to school attendance that have been put in place for the start of the academic year 202/25. The Department for Education and Gloucestershire County Council has produced several documents to help parents and carers understand these changes:

Meadowside Attendance Letter

Holiday request letter

Department for Education Guide on Attendance

GCC Attendance and Prosecution Leaflet

GCC Penalty Notice Leaflet

GCC School Attendance Leaflet

Our school has a good attendance record. We encourage attendance and celebrate it with the children. We also challenge parents and carers where attendance is not meeting the national expectation and are addressing persistent absentees as a matter of urgency. Please see our policy (on the policy page for more information).

When a child is not able to attend school due to illness please contact the school as early as possible. Click here for contact information.

Children can feel unwell during the school day and again we try to make early contact with parents so that the child can be taken home.  If your child has been suffering with diarrhoea or sickness, we recommend that they stay at home for 48 hours (NHS recommendation).

Please contact the school if there is need for an authorised absence, for example, a doctors appointment.
